Experienced veterinary nurse / shift lead (Brno)

We are looking for an experienced veterinary nurse to join the team of the Zvíře+ Veterinary Clinic in Brno – someone with several years of experience at a larger veterinary practice who wants a position where that experience is truly put to use.

We are looking for an independent, experienced colleague who can find their way around the clinic, organise work, communicate with clients and be a professional support to doctors and less experienced colleagues.

Who we are looking for

We expect:

• at least 3 years of experience at a larger veterinary clinic or similar workplace,
• experience organising the nursing team and working with reception,
• practical experience as a theatre nurse and/or independently managing and monitoring anaesthesia,
• proven experience with laboratory diagnostics and imaging,
• experience managing and organising the stock of medicines and medical supplies,
• the ability to communicate actively and professionally with pet owners,
• excellent communication in person, in writing and by phone,
• independence, the ability to organise your own work and see the needs of the whole clinic,
• a proactive approach – we are looking for someone who does not just wait for tasks but recognises what needs to be done.

What your work will include

Alongside the usual work of a veterinary nurse, you will care for hospitalised and acute patients, assist with examinations and procedures, prepare and operate diagnostic equipment, work in the laboratory, take part in anaesthesia and the running of the operating theatre, and communicate with pet owners.

At the same time, we are looking for someone who can get involved in organising the nursing team, reception, stock and the day-to-day running of the clinic, and gradually take on more responsibility.

Zvíře+ is a non-stop veterinary clinic in Brno focused on dogs and cats. Besides routine outpatient care, we focus on emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery and hospitalisation. We have our own laboratory, X-ray, ultrasound, surgical facilities, oxygen therapy and our own veterinary ambulance and transport service.
